Workshops: ICE-D:MASS WASTING / ALTERNATIVE NAME

Purpose

Landforms associated with mass earth movements (e.g., rock falls, landslides, etc.) can be good targets for cosmogenic exposure dating. Indeed, several studies worldwide have produced chronologic constraints on geologic events related to mass movement. As such, there should be a database to curate and store these data.

Initial meeting

Greg Balco and Joe Tulenko met with Brendon Quirk over zoom to briefly discuss the new features of ICE-D version 2 on Wednesday, April 27th

Meeting notes:

Greg intro'ed the new database, Brendon confirmed that he is able to connect to the new database through his SQL client (Heidi).

Greg discussed the basics of the new database layout (e.g., matching now with unique id's instead of names, changes to table names, setting up data entry tables, etc.)

Meeting left off with Brendon agreeing to collect as many samples from publications he's found so far relating to mass movement, organize them into the relevant tables (region, site, sample, _10Be_26Al_quartz, etc.) and then send to us when ready.

The next step may be to get him set up as a standard_editor on the admin page in the web app so in the future he can add more data directly from the web app.
